The guide

How the park works

One ticket plus internal buses. Most visitors do Red Stone Gorge in the morning and the waterfall valley after lunch; both involve stairs and wet boardwalks.

Crowds

Weekends in July and August are heavy. Arrive at opening, and walk the gorge before 10:00 to keep the water shots clear.

Practical notes

  • Comfortable grippy shoes; boardwalks are wet year-round
  • Stay overnight in Xiuwu or the park's village guesthouses to start at sunrise
  • 06:30–18:30, last entry 16:30
