Getting up
Two cable cars plus a staircase. The second car is the one that clears the ridge; from there it is 30–40 minutes of walking to the summit temples.
Weather is the whole trip
Cloud inversions are common in autumn and after snow. Check the mountain's live camera before buying the cable car ticket.
Practical notes
- Layers and gloves even in April; the ridge is 10°C colder than Luoyang
- Sunrise sessions require staying in the mountain village the night before
- 07:30–17:30
